PoE, developed by Grinding Gear Games, has been a beloved action role-playing ARPG for years, captivating players with its deep gameplay, extensive character customization, and continuous content updates. The announcement of Path of Exile 2 generated massive excitement among the gaming community, promising a new chapter in the dark and gritty world of Wraeclast. In this article, we’ll delve into the latest information regarding the release date of Path of Exile 2 and the eagerly anticipated closed beta date on June 7th 2024.

I. The Genesis of Path of Exile 2

Before we dive into the release date and beta details, let’s take a moment to explore the genesis of Path of Exile 2. Grinding Gear Games officially unveiled the sequel during ExileCon 2019, an event that marked a significant milestone for the franchise. The announcement trailer showcased a visually stunning overhaul of the game engine, promising improved graphics and animations, while retaining the deep and intricate mechanics that had made the Path of Exile a fan favorite.

One of the key selling points that we are incredibly excited about is the new Path of Exile 2 campaign, set seven centuries after the events of the first game. This new story promises a fresh narrative perspective on the cursed continent of Wraeclast, introducing a new cast of characters and challenges. Importantly, Path of Exile 2 will share the same server as the original game, ensuring that both communities can interact, thereby keeping the core Path of Exile experience intact.

Path Of Exile 2 is a completely separate game from the original Path of exile which will both be playable as two separate games. When you purchase something in the new game, it will still continue be usable in both games including your already owned microtransactions and stash tabs after the new game is released.

II. Path of Exile 2 release date speculation

The release date of Path of Exile 2 has been the subject of much speculation and anticipation since its announcement. Grinding Gear Games has consistently emphasized their commitment to delivering a polished and exceptional gaming experience, which means they have refrained from rushing the development process. In a world where rushed releases have become all too common, this approach is a breath of fresh air for fans.

As of my knowledge cutoff date in September 2021, Grinding Gear Games had not provided a specific release date for Path of Exile 2. However, they have reassured the community that the game is still in active development, and the team is dedicated to ensuring that it lives up to the high standards set by its predecessor. Given the ambitious nature of the project and the developer’s penchant for meticulous attention to detail, it’s understandable that the release date would be a closely guarded secret. Game director Jonathan Rogers and Chris Wilson have yet to announce.
